About Matt
Matt was born and raised in Rhode Island in a healthcare household (his mom is a nurse, and his dad is a business owner and consultant for healthcare and biotechnology providers). Growing up, he benefited from the free pens, notepads, coffee mugs, and golf balls collected by his parents over years of healthcare conferences. Many of his family friends include doctors, dentists, nurses, and other professionals and workers in the healthcare field.
Today, Matt is an accomplished lawyer and businessman in the Boston area. After graduating with his law degree and MBA from Creighton University, he received his licenses to practice law in Massachusetts and Florida and has been accumulating experience all over the eastern seaboard. As a staff attorney and business development manager for one of the largest cancer care providers in the world, Matt helped executives, fellow attorneys, and company associates resolve legal and business matters with his specialized knowledge of corporate healthcare and biotechnology law. Matt was tasked with handling many legal matters ranging from reviewing and drafting agreements to coordinating complex commercial litigation, from handling government inquiries to working with C-suite executives on multi-million dollar transactions.

Identified and solved healthcare regulatory matters involving Stark Law, state and federal Anti-Kickback statutes, HIPAA/HITECH regulations, corporate practice of medicine restrictions, and Certificate of Need requirements.
Commercial Arbitration
Managed outside counsel on a complex $12 million commercial arbitration claim in California, resulting in a favorable outcome.
Multi-Faceted Coordination
Organized and coordinated management from multiple departments, including legal, compliance, operations, and IT, on the long-term integration of 75 physician practices acquired through $100,000,000 corporate transaction.
Corporate Arrangements
Conducted due diligence, drafted memoranda, and provided guidance for complex company transactions, including managing due diligence for a $325 million capital restructuring arrangement, and evaluating material agreements for a $125 million stock purchase, the largest acquisition in the client’s history, which increased its size by 30%.
Team Management
Led a six-member team of attorneys, paralegals, and tax analysts on separate corporate maintenance projects to consolidate over 30 shell entities and convert a subsidiary operating in 17 states, creating over $100,000 in annual tax savings.
Compliance & Policy Writing
Produced and presented compliance plan to enhance company-wide policies relating to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, as the client integrated international acquisitions and consolidated international operations under United States-based headquarters.
Contract Oversight
Improved contract routing, approval, and signature processes by documenting and streamlining systems, which enhanced management oversight and control of client’s contracts.
Asset Purchases
Negotiated and drafted material agreements for asset purchase and reorganization of client’s relationship with a multi-physician practice in Arizona.
